Our Fitness Philosophy
If you want to be physically fit, there are no short cuts; it is work. Whether you wish to perform your normal life functions with more ease or have high-performance athletic goals, you must spend the time necessary to achieve and maintain your desired fitness level.
You must also strike a balance between exercise and nutrition. Like a great car needs fuel, it is essential that as you care for your body, you are also fueling it with healthy eating habits.
You don't need special equipment or a membership to a fancy gym. Jeff can train you in the convenience of your own home or work place, with equipment you already have. A major focus of IMFT is working on core strength and attaining an appropriate level of aerobic/cardiovascular exercise for you or your group.
No shortcuts. Start living better today!

About Jeff
Jeff Miller is a life-long athlete; he started running track and cross-country in high school, sometimes biking ten miles home after practices. Right after college, he started racing bikes competitively and raced on a national level for six years. When he had young children at home, he decided to participate in a less dangerous sport and returned to running.
When his daughter took up an interest in soccer at 6 years of age, Jeff learned everything he could about the sport in order to coach her and her friends; thus began an 11-year coaching stint. Jeff coached numerous youth soccer teams through the Albert Lea Youth Soccer Program and either volunteered or worked as the Assistant Coach for the high school varsity program, twice helping the varsity team get to the Minnesota State tournament.
Jeff continues to enjoy working with young teenagers in small groups or on a one-on-one basis, helping them to improve their overall health and fitness in order to maximize their effectiveness in whichever sports they are involved.
Jeff enjoys working with all types of individuals, from high-performance athletes to those starting their first exercise programs and is passionate about helping people take ownership of their health. He enjoys sharing with others what he has learned about fitness and healthy living, often spending hours each day researching exercise techniques and nutrition advice, seeking better ways to help his friends and clients.
Jeff has raced in three Ironman Triathlons, more than 30 marathons, about 40 duathlons, and innumerable running races under marathon length. He was the Minnesota Duathlon Series Champion in the mid-90s, twice he's finished in the top 25 overall at the US National Duathlon Championships, he won a State Time Trial championship on a tandem bike, and spent five years as a Category 2 cyclist in the United States Cycling Federation. Jeff's PR in the marathon is 2:38:10 but is currently satisfied to finish in under 3 hours.
Jeff is happily married to Amy and has two older children; Sophie graduated from Albert Lea High School in 2010 and Max will be graduating in 2012. Jeff received his Personal Training Certification from the Athletic Certification and Training Commission (ACT) and maintains updated CPR/AED certification.
